Default Rain-sensing windshield wiper module

I have been looking into buying a module like this for my car recently and I wanted some input. Most users with cars that have this feature seem to be split on their gratification. Some say it is an annoyance and some say it is a godsend. I personally have driven a C230 with this feature and loved it 100%. So I guess it all depends on the quality of the unit. I came across 2 units:

1. http://www.sigmaautomotive.com/oedes/raintracker.php

2. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product...0010400/c-10101

I would rather invest more money into the Raintracker since the sensor is much smaller and not much of an eyesore.

Opinions?

Pretty cool for those who DD the car.

Mine never see's rain so not worth it for me, but I can definitely see it as being convenient.

My first thought when I saw this was "dumb idea for a lazy person."

I read the site and remembered how nice it was on a couple of my dad's cars when I drove em. Sensor module was a heck of a lot bigger on the factory ones I've seen in the past.

I would consider this but think it is slightly overpriced at $140+. My windshield will likely get replaced in the next 7 months so I would be spending over $175 with a second mount, taxes, and shipping. Tough sell. Someone arrange a GB at $120 for the unit and I'm in. I want to see the whole thing at my house for less than $150. Yeah I know it would be only a $25 savings but I've drawn the line

I've never understood the point of these. First this, then cars parallel park for us...where does it stop? I like to be in control of my car.

I don't care to be in control of the non-driving aspects of my car.

I don't mind if the blinkers turn off after a turn for me.

I don't mind if the window rolls all the way down with the "auto-down" function.

Why would I care if the wiper wipes automatically for me?

We have them in our other cars and it's nice to not bother with mundane things.
