ok first off, i know this is obvious so please don't flame me. I have a rattling noise which is sort of mellow and sounds something like a "clanging chain" when my bass kicks in when i'm playing music. I've found it to be very noticeable when the top is down. What i'm trying to figure out is whether it's the stock speakers not being able to handle the extra power coming from my amp and HU or if my Sub is rattling something to give me that noise. If it's the latter than i know that i need to dynamat it, if it's the speakers then i know that its time to upgrade them.
If anyone with a sub has any insight on this sound, i'd greatly appreciate it

I've come to the conclusion that the rattling definately has something to do with the soft-top...maybe the canister that holds the top in place when it's down...i know your not going to get the greatest sound from a convertible but i'm gonna try my hardest to get it at it's best
"the canister that holds the top in place when it's down"???
I don't think my car has this part...
Most people have a rattling coming from the rear tray, but that is when the top is up, as when the top is down, the weight of the soft top and the damping it provides doesn't lend well to rattling still coming through...
Can you be more specific??
