Real-life budget considered, which components?
I plan to own my S2000 for the long haul, so any modification I make is thoughtfully considered, and I'm also on a pretty tight budget. I have a mortgage, wife, and fledgling business, so my car is not the highest priority for my family.
Those constaints considered, I want the best sound quality that I can obtain. In order to maximize my budget, I'm doing my stereo system in stages.
First I added Modifry's DCI and an Alpine 9884.
Next I bought a full roll of RAAMmat and a few yards of Ensolite foam and installed it in my trunk, floorboards, and did the full application on both parts of my doors (inside and out) to make them a sealed enclosure. I've noticed a DRAMATIC improvement in sound quality since I applied the RAAMmat.
I'd like to make my next upgrade a component system for my now sealed doors. My budget is pretty firm around $200. I just can't justify any more money than that when we are balancing my desire for sound quality with our desire to make improvements to our home, etc. My amp budget will also be around $200, but that will not happen for another 1-2 months.
So, which components should I buy?

I liked my Infinity Reference 6020CS components. Crctuchfield has them now for less tahn $150 and another post here said $120 at Best Buy. I'm driving mine with a Cobalt 300.2 80w amp which I got from Crutchfield for $80. So, you could do both for not much more than $200. speaker wire and cable extra, of course.
