Default Rear speakers?

I hope I'm not in the wrong forum........ When driving at freeway speeds (or higher) I can't hear my radio/cd/ipod/whatever....... I found these: My link

on ebay and wondered if anyone was using this product, or a similar setup. What size speakers are you using, and are they hardwired in? or bluetooth connected????

Thanks
Jeff

and if you like jazz guitar......... here's one of the greats: My link

Honda sold a headrest speaker add on for our cars.

Scroll down a bit and you'll see them.

Aside from that there are several aftermarket options similar to the one you linked, although I am unsure whether they are still made.

I have those speaker mounts, they're great. I put some FoCal 6.5-inch component speakers in them with a 360-watt JL amp pushing them.

Do you have the seats with the open headrest? I don't (2006), so I can't comment on how overpowering the sound is coming from right behind your head. In mine I hear the passenger speaker more than the driver side, obviously.

When ordering the speaker mounts you can specify either 5-5.5 inch + tweeter or 6.5-inch, it changes how the wood is cut. I'd go with the 6.5 again.

Only shortcoming I've found is that if you try to move the seats all the way back and then lean them all the way back, the headrests touch the front of the speakers. I'm tall/big 6-1 265 so I lost a little bit of seat room putting these in.

I was going to bodge in some rear speakers too, even though I feel they ruin the soundstage, until I replaced my humble amp and coaxials with better components and double the wattage. The power headroom makes all the difference, especially on the freeway with the top down.

I have 6.5" Alpine type S rear speakers powered by a JL Audio 4x75rms amp.
With the top down, they sound great. With the top up, I fade the balance to the fronts or else the rears are overpowering.
I got my brackets off eBay. Only figment issue that most ppl face is that the brackets tend to move. They look terrible when not in position. Just need to keep an eye out and adjust them when needed.

If you get the speakers you are still going to need to find an Amp to drive them so it is going to end up costing you a couple hundred for a decent one. I would recommend upgrading the HU first this will probably give the best increase in audio, followed by an amp and speakers. Currently my headrest speakers are unplugged and I have zero issues hearing music.
