Default Remote Engine Start for Manual Transmissions

I just purchased a Clifford Matrix RS2 for $115 from a friend who works at Best Buy. It's the best alarm they carry so I figured I'd take advantage of his discount and buy one. The alarm's main feature is the remote start option, which you do not have to install. My question is: Is it possible to install the remote start feature on manual transmissions (S2000)? It says "fuel-injected automatic transmissions only" on the box, but I've heard of people installing it on manual transmissions before. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.

a remote start option that doesn't need [professional] install? working in a shop and seeing how badly starters can go wrong on manual trans, i can tell you that scares me silly. i have a clifford concept 600 (their TRUE high end model) and it uses a module called the Intellistart. it works wonderfully well. built in starter? pass. big pass.

I visited a local audio/alarm shop recently and was informed about the Intellistart feature. Intellistart is a module (you can purchase separately for Clifford Alarms) that allows you to remote start your car (manual or auto). On a manual transmission, you have to "prove" to the car that it is in neutral. When you park your car, you leave it in neutral, step out and close the door, then set the alarm and turn the engine off with the remote. That way, the alarm knows the car is in neutral. Thus, preventing possible accidents if someone leaves the car in gear. Once you start the car, you cannot turn it off and start it again and again with the remote. You have to repeat the whole procedure. This is better than bypassing the clutch and using the built-in remote start feature on my Clifford Matrix RS2. I'm planning on getting Intellistart installed soon.

If you are going to purchase a Clifford alarm, buy one that already comes with the Intellistart feature. My Clifford alarm (Matrix RS2) comes with a remote start feature, but you have to bypass the clutch in order to use it. Most professional installers will not do this. Unless you know how to install everything yourself, Intellistart is your only option.

The reason professional installers will not bypass the clutch is because they can be held liable if something happens.
