Default Remote Wire best placement?

I just purchased my first amp ever and I am getting ready to do the install. I have heard a lot of different ideas about the remote wire placement. Is it possible to hook it up to the Stereo so the amp will only turn on if the headunit has power? If so how? I am running an Pioneer head unit. Thanks in advance for the help.

There should be a remote wire on your Pioneer head unit's harness that connects to the amp for exactly that purpose. Hook it up and you should be all set.

What he said. Whenever your radio turns on your amp will turn on too.

That was easy. I guess I should have checked the wiring diagram first.

Thanks
