Replacing Keyless Entry Module
Hi all,
I have a MY06 I bought with a non-working keyless entry (though I didn't realize it at the time). I've checked various things so far and it's still not working:
1. Batteries in the remotes are fine
2. The fuse in the interior fusebox is fine
3. I've tried the programming steps many times
I'm thinking my next step might be to try replacing the module. I gather there's one part number for all MYs: 38380S2AA01. There's some cheap ones on ebay I could try.
Has anyone done this?
Will it work?
Would there be any special install instructions?
Any other ideas?

The service manual has fairly exhaustive tests to the keyless inputs using a multimeter at the connector -
if they all test fine then the module is assumed bad. A couple things to note: there are TWO fuses supplying
power to the module - #5 and #26. Another thing is that the OEM accessory alarm uses a separate fob which
controls the alarm module, which in turn operates the keyless module via wire. If you have an alarm fob, but
no alarm, faulty alarm, or disconnected alarm, you'd need to replace the fob with a standard keyless fob.
Per this thread an alarm fob has an "H" logo while the keyless fob says "Honda" (though there appears to be
some dispute about this).
