Replacing V1 Radar with ...
to answer any questions; the only inconvenience is that ladies can no longer use the sunvisor to put on makeup/ block sun,
Wire can not be seen and it looks like I have no radar detector (theft/cop avoidance?), also the gps signal gets acquired just as easy as on the windshield + I have a hardtop and the signal doesn't get affected at all.
Pros: radar never heats up from the sun,
well hidden from unwanted attention,
Gps signal/ detection is exactly the same as a windshield mounted unit (Tested)
doesn't leave those ugly stains on the windshield from suction cups
No one gets to use the sunvisor mirror
Cons: passenger gets pissed when driving in direct sunlight/ can't put on make up

The picture looks like it's pointing down because of the angle I took it at (avoiding sunlight), I used a goniometer to make sure the angle of incidence was perfect relative to the oncoming forwards and rear assaults.
It's just my 2 cents but i'd steer clear of blend mounts, I have 3 friends that switched after seeing my setup, the blend mount is prone to rattling no matter how perfect you set it up, it looks bulky and attracts attention (reason to get roof slashed if you don't have a hardtop), overall it's just not worth the money, come on 90$ for a blend mount where you can buy a visor clip/ hardwire kit for < 5$...

All you need is that visor clip that escort provides, some sort of a protractor and 5 minutes of your time. The reason I put it on the passenger side is because I like to be up close and I hate having a radar in my face, plus I am avoiding any unnecessary radiation and I can actually use my visor to block out the sun

What do you mean you used a goniometer. Doesn't the visor clip just slip on one way without any adjustments?
the visor clip is straight forward, plugs in your radar detector and then you just slide it on your sunvisor (escort has a universal clip for all their new radar detectors)
The way you adjust the angle of the radar detector is by slightly moving the sunvisor, to be honest you can just eyeball it to make sure it's level with the road and not pointing down at your hood or up towards the traffic light. I used a goniometer to make sure I had a perfect 90 degree angle with the road.
also you can route your entire hardwire kit under the rubber molding just tuck it in there nice and snug, in my picture you can see I left some play room for the radar but I changed that later on and now you can't see the wire at all.

Yeah it just opens and closes, when you stick the radar on it you just move the visor down like 2 cm and call it a day, it stays in that position no problems.
the hardest part of the install will be opening the package for your clip.
