I just wanted to post a pic and comment on these 4" speakers. The top (in the photo) one is a Rockford Fosgate FNX2404 and the lower one is the Sony XS-F1021.

The Rockfords are a Mid range speaker (70 rms 140 peak). You really need an amp to drive these, but they are awesome. I tested them to my amp (2x100) to see how they are. When I get a chance I'm yankin' my JBLs out and putting in these. And get this, their size is perfect for an easy drop in fit! If you have a sub in the truck, full ranges in the doors, and tweeters these will give you the extra mids you're looking for!

I'm impressed by the Sonys. Though I haven't really thought much of their products over the years, the build quality on these are very good. (25 RMS 80 Peak). They would compliment the rear lines of an aftermarket radio very well.

Hey lucid:

I replaced my front speakers with Sony 1621's and I'm interested in using their 4" speakers for the rears. What model number are these?

Also, if I buy your harness, can you provide the dimensions for the location of the cut-outs for the Sony's? I plan on doing the install myself.

Thanks!

Are you happy with the 1621's?
I've heard some nice comments on them, and I'm probably going to install a set this weekend.

I'm open to almost anything that improves the quality, without causing a full day of installation.

I'm happy with the 1621's. Some have installed the 1631's, which they claim to sound better (and the specs show a little more bass), but they require cutting the speaker basket - which I didn't want to do. They took me about 1/2 hour to install.
