I really feel like I made a mistake by doing this bit I traded in my S2000 for a Lotus Elise and an Ariel Atom. I wanted to thank everyone in the electronics forum for all their help. The lotus forum for audio is very wimpy in comparison. You should really appreciate this resource.

Thanks especially to Darknight and Pas2knut who made a few really cool items for my car but also to everyone who contributed.

In any case the upshot is that I will have Darknights Sub box with Alphasonik 600 sub for sale, only used for a month or 2. I will put it on ebay but pm me if you are interested for more details($250 but you gotta pick it up in westchester,ny - I will throw in my Ricks Black Magnum Voodoo shift knob and my Lucid kenwood rear speaker setup as a bonus)

Traded your S2k for an Elise AND an Atom? Was this a $60,000 S2k?

Drive that Elise good early on, as their lemon rate is unusually high (mother represents Lotus USA in Lemon Law). Some problems with converting the Toyota engine to a RWD tranny.....dunno the specifics.

I would make the same move if I had the resources :wink: .

Always sad to see a post like this, but we do move on. I traded one of our 3000GTs for my s2k. In my case, I had no doubts it was the right decision.

Enjoy that Elise. I've seen two at the track (none on the street). They look to be a ton of fun to drive.

see his sexy avatar... hehe go cart chassis with possible 300 hp supercharged engine if rain weren't an issue and if there weren't so many SUVs to run you over, an arial atom would be my daily driver

 

Although I love the new cars i will always miss the S2k- the fact that it is good at so many things is what makes it a great car.

In my view its a classic.

 

Ooo an atom. Which spec did you get?

 

I ordered the 205hp with a lot of the race car trim. It is very easy to upgrade to 275-300hp. Should get it in 6-8months.

you too? I've sold my 3000gt twin turbo for a s2000. it was a difficult transition as it had so much torque before and I'm still getting used to the gears on this S. The 3000gt only used 2 gears in the city as it goes over 60mph on 2nd gear.

My only fear is that getting parts for the S in the future maybe as difficult as with the 3000gt since this S engine is unique to this vehicle and is limited in production or soon to be discontiued.
