Default Screen in dash mounting help

When mounting a screen, or more specifically a GaugeTech EMS display (www.gauge-tech.com) into the dash, what's the best way to keep it in place? I'd like it to be removable just in case I need to change wires or something, yet secure enough so that it's not going to fall out when I hit a bump.

How is the JDM bezel held in place? From what I can tell, it looks similar to the way the radio door is held with the mounting tabs being pushed into slotted holes. I was thinking I can get a JDM bezel or a new radio door and modify it to accomodate the size and shape of the display. Any suggestions?

Mine is mounted with a long thru-bolt design. The bolt is embedded in the back of the bezel..at the other end is a washer for grab purposes. So it can be tightened and loosened. I wish I had a pic for you to explain it better.

So basically its bolted into place? If so, how the hell do you get back there to bolt it up?

Yes, through the airbag cutout in the dash. The airbag unit lifts up with a few screws ...move it over a bit and reach in and tighten/loosen. Retighten the airbag unit and done!

I remember seeing your set-up years ago, I think it was the first one ever.

The bolts embeded in the outer-most edge of the bezel correct? Which go straight into the dash and bolt on using a washer/nut? Thanks for the help man!

Thanks! Yeah I think I was the S2k dash guinea pig Yes, a big washer/nut grabs onto something back there and that is how it tightens. Good luck!

I'm getting it from an import company... www.japanparts.com

They are REAL slow in returning e-mails but I don't know anyone else that can do it. I did have a Japanese friend in high school... hmmm maybe its time to look her up.
