Default Slight bass rattle from pass. door speaker

What should I do? I know the OEM door speakers are pos...if the passenger speaker rattles under slightly heavy bass should I just replace it, or is there an easier fix? I know I am being picky but so what lol. Should I just get an OEM one to replace it and be done with it? I don't need a fancy ass sound system.

This happened to me as well. The stock speakers really are POS...i got mine and in three weeks i manage to blow the same speaker. If youre looking for nothing special order these Polks DB651 and install them yourself, way better sound and there easy to install

If you have an AP2, you should get the db6501. They fit fine.

ok i am seriously clueless with audio equipment. what is the purpose of the crossover that comes with the DB6501 (thanks dwight these look great). will i need to use that? found these on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Metra-72-7800-...=pd_rhf_shvl_4
def. getting these so i don't have to mess with all the wiring...since i suck with audio. so with the DB6501 setup...will i still be able to use the audio buttons to the left of the steering wheel. thanks everyone for helping a dumbass

Installing speakers has nothing to do w/ audio controls. I just installed the Polk MM6501's (~$175 shipped from Amazon), and they dropped right in and sound great. Rattles were even more of a problem after the speaker install due to the new speakers' greater bass output, so I installed a Dynamat Extreme door kit. Problem solved, and it now sounds MUCH better. It was kind of a PITA to install the Dynamat, but it's def. worth the trouble. In fact, if you just want to get rid of the rattle, the Dynamat may solve it w/o the need for new speakers.

hey chris, i am sold on the MM6501's. After comparing my other options those do look to be the best choice. Couple of questions: so you say they drop in without need to modify the stock basket? They will hide nicely behind the door panels?

Also, would something like this be pretty solid? http://www.amazon.com/Dynamat-10415-...6358216&sr=8-3

Thanks!!

You might be able to modify the stock baskets, but I ditched them and just used the mounting rings that came w/ the Polks. The kit in your link would help a bit, but I'm not sure if it would dampen all the rattles. Might as well do it right, and mat the entire door. I used the Dynamat 10435 kit. BTW, another nice thing about the Polk MM's is that they're the most efficient 6.5" component speakers I'm aware of.
