Default So i found out what's making my speaker sounds..

for the longest time i though my speakers were blew because i am getting some consistent popping noise when i crank it up(or under heavy bass)

i have a kenwood 22rms HU w 50watt, 16ga wires all around, the front is momo/polk and the rear is sony xpold, everything are new except the momo speakers which came with the car when i got it.

after taking the panel off and listen close to it i found out the popping noise was from the bass hitting the oem plastic door seal(the big white and clear plastic sheet), it only happens when i am moving alot of bass. i guess the back of the speaker is pumping out air with no where to go and it just pops and vibrate the sheet in some spot)

so i cutted some slot in the plastic and my speakers sound normal again

too bad i was about to get some Fosgate power speakers for a good deal, maybe in a year or two

cliffnote: always check your stuff before throwing em' away

Seriously? I push a lot of bass and run loud volume at 50w rms all the time. Lots of speaker movement and never have this sound.

Not to mention that plastic is there for a purpose... to prevent water from entering the inside of your door...

Come to think of it, when I installed some speakers a few months back, I had the same issue with the right speaker. I didn't know what caused it until I just read your post. Thanks!
