haha you wanna put a 10" Alpha in there? Seriously Jim?

I don't know if I could fit it in there even if I took the heatsink ring off the bottom... I'm willing to give it a shot though. Once I'm done with this one I'll find another used compartment and order up a sub... I'l have to take some measurements and see about a 10" fitting... I think I can fit an 8" though but you'll lose some of the center console glovebox section.

I am interested in purchasing this once you are done, or a similar one. I really want a Kicker L7 8 in there (since i can get one for a great price brand new), but a local shop quoted me way more than I am willing to pay.

Would you be willing to make a fiberglass enclosure that has the same external dimensions, but to fit a square 8"? I really don't mind losing the storage space at all since I don't use it.

Actually I just want to make a fiberglass enclosure for the trunk for my Alpha, this is going to be a winter project.

Welll... to fit an 8" sq sub in there will require I pretty much rebuild the whole thing... and even then I'm not sure it will have the required airspace and even if I make up a little bit of air space with polyfil, I still doubt it would be enough. I will have to possibly reshape the outside of the box a little bit in the front because I think...(I couldnt be sure without having the sub and cutting up a center console to prove it) because I think the corners of a sq sub might stick out just past the edge of the console... but maybe not. If it didn't it would be damn close to it.

My goal with this is to have an almost drop in type setup... I wanted to go drop in but that just can't work. So,.. now the plan is to use the removable tray sections as a start and then in the end someone could remove that section from their own car and pop in the sub without hopfully having to cut anything from the car. So when and if they decide to sell or trade the car they can remove it and return the car to stock, and sell the part off.

I'll remove the tray section only, leaving the rest of the console intact. I dont want to cut it at all. I just want to use the removable tray section for the build. It will not be for everyone. This type of "sub" does not have the output of a 10" sub mounted in the trunk. But this may be a good option for those that do not want to have a tool well type enclosure in the trunk and a person that doesnt need dishes moving in the kitchen when the car is parked on the street 100 ft away This will just fill in the lower end of the range.

My brother has (2) 6.5 JL's in his Jeep on the back swing door and they are plenty for that... and so after hearing them in a Jeep I figured, heck one of those next to a persons head should sound pretty good We shall see.
