Default Someone stole my antenna!

WTF!? I just realized that my antenna is gone. My car was in my garage when I noticed it, so I don't know when it was actually stolen. It must have been earlier this week, because that's when I noticed that some of my radio presets were just white noise. I rarely listen to the radio, so I wasn't sure why I seemed to have saved stations that weren't there. Now I know. Anyway, I was really pissed about my antenna, but I just got back to my computer, looked-up the price of a replacement at Handa, and it wasn't as much as I thought. Sixteen bucks isn't too bad. It still sucks, though. Aside from unscrewing it every time I park my car, can I prevent this from happening again?

thanks,
gil

No you can't prevent it unless you hook up electricity to it to where if someone touches it it zaps their stealing ass
It's a common problem because people use them on other cars. Sorry to hear that that happened to you!

The S2000 unfortunately is parts galore to ricers. They love getting thier hands on anthing on the S2000, antennas, shift knobs, tailights, and the seats.

Get used to it, my antenna has been stolen 3 times. I thought locktight would solve the problem but they just cut the bolt! Apparently im starting to see them on Chevy trucks as well. People are getting them and drilling into them so it screws on their chevy truck. This sucks!

At onetime you would see a bunch on eBay going for more then you could buy one from HandA. As someone else mentioned you could use loctite, not the blue stuff, but the permanent one. You can still remove it, but need a torch. The downside is that if they want it, they will probably damage your car.

Based on these replies, I think I'm going to have to get used to removing my replacement antenna when parked in sketchy, or just distant, areas. Or maybe I'll only install it when I want to listen to the radio. Either way, it sucks that I have to worry about all those punk-ass losers out there. Oh, if I could have only caught them in the act.

thanks everyone,
gil

Very mature guys, steal from someone else because someone stole from you. Did it ever occur to you that someone may have legitimately purchased an S2000 antenna and installed it on their car? Unless you know for certain that you're recovering your exact personal property from the person who stole it, you have no right to take someone else's. You're just perpetuating the problem.
