Default Soundstream

It has been many years since I installed soundstream equipment, but I am looking to replace my rockford setup with something else.

I was just wondering if anyone has had experience with soundstream and what did you think of it.

The items I am considering are here...

Amp, TRA 880.5 http://www.soundstream.com/sub/produ...tarantula.html

Sub, T4-10 http://www.soundstream.com/sub/products_subs_t4_d.html

Pikkashoe had a Soundstream Van Gogh amp before his Alpine. According to his reviews, it was pretty solid. I think the Van Gogh was the predecessor to the Tarantula. From what I remember, though, they are pretty LARGE amps in dimensions. Heard good things, especially about their support and customer service. No practical experience, though.

Wood Packing Crate with Chrome Appointments
What does that mean? Does it come in a wooden crate adorned with chrome?

I have no experience with the new ones. The old tarantulas were simply AWESOME. I have no real reason to think they are crap now, but it does happen. As far as the sub, I liked the old T2-10, the new one looks like the surround it a bit think. Id lean more towards the Alphasonik, ALpine or Eclipse myself.

Yeah, I have heard good things about Eclipse as well. That SW9102 is NUTS! HOLY SURROUND BATMAN! I have heard that it takes quite a bit of power to get it moving, though.

Not mine yet! Ships out friday! I will admit, though, it is not as pretty as the Eclipse sub. Metal cones just look SICK when clean and polished .

Back on subject......PM Pikkashoe, he can probably give you a review / synopsis of his experience with the company and their products. There is also a guy on here from Australia that has an all Soundstream system. I will see if I can remember his handle. He had some issues with the install, but Soundstream treated him right, and one of the higher-ups actually called the install shop on his behalf and got them to rectify the problem REALLY quickly.

Yea, but they both have the old tried and true stuff. This is all brand new equipment that no one has tried yet.
