speaker in the middle console

Default speaker in the middle console

has anyone tried to fit maybe a 6x9 speaker in the middle console where your right elbow should rest right behind the coin tray i was thinking about taking apart the whole middle console, what do you guys say can it be done..............

You can easily pop that center arm rest thing off. I don't think there is enough depth in there for the speaker magnet to live.

Even if it would fit, where would you put the other speaker?

If you only run one speaker, you'll need to combine the left and right channels, else the soundstage will sound REALLY wierd at times.

if you are going to install an after market alarm, that's the place to put the cabin sensor so nobody can reach into your car when the top is down and the alarm is activated without the alarm going off

as for sound...why go mono?

hmmm....interesting idea. I have seen a 6x9 used as a subwoofer before (not a regular 6x9). Biggest problem would be like xviper stated...not a lot of room for the magnet and the volume would most likely be too small. Air leaks would be all over too, which would be another problem.

you know what maybe you can fit an speaker behind the seats thats the best way, so you have fit two behind two seats. should sound better for sure.
need custom fit let the pro do it if you don't know how!!
