I went through this a little while ago. I bought an Alpine head unit that had a peak power output of 60x4. I wanted to get speakers too, but hadn't decided whether or not I needed an amp. I think speaker selection makes a big difference depending on whether you are going to use an amp or not, so IMO, you are better of deciding on this first.

BTW, I ended up going with Focal Utopia 165Ws and a PPI amp - great speaker, but a little pricey...

Polk has been very good with the stock head and aftermarket decks.

602as are the past generation. The EX365s are better. Instead of laying out money for new speakers, why not try changing your head unit while keeping your current speakers. You'll get more out of them.

I went with Focal components and a PP amp. Whatever speakers you go with I would definitely spend the extra $100 and get the tweeters in the a-pillars. It is an easy mod and the clarity of vocals much closer to your ear make a huge difference.

You might want to check out the Cadence ZXN62 -- high sensitivity, high power handling and comparatively solid low end.
