Default Stealth Radar Detector Mount

Mac or anyone else,
I live in a state in which radar detectors are illegal. I recently drove to Texas, and the minute I was outside Va, bought one and used it. Now, I am addicted. I was thinking about trying to dismantle it and do a stealth install in the A-pillar... I would go so far as to have a custom A-pillar made. What do you think? Is this feasable?

i dunno how the plastic would affect detection, but you could put a v1 in the secret compartment and the seperate display thing someplace and have a kill switch so it doesnt make noise.
