Default stereo upgrade questions

Alright, so I like loud clear music.....and most stock stereos can't deliver that. I sold my integra but kept the entire stereo because I planned on putting it into my next car.....and I'm pickin up an s2000 tonight!

Anyway, I have four 6.5" components, crossovers seperate tweeters and all.......

I'm pretty sure I can fit the components in the doors, but will a 6.5" speaker with a decent sized magnet (Alpine Type R) fit in the rear plastic? I remember reading that there is metal behind those...and I don't feel like hackin up the car......

Also, does anyone have any custom boxes with two 12" subs? I have a JL powerwedge...but there is no way it's fitting in the tiny trunk....so I will build a custom box and would like to re-use the subs I already have.......

Thanks in advance...

ohh btw this is what I have for stereo stuff....it sounded awesome in my integra...

Eclipse cd8053 face
JL Audio 300/4 class AB amp
Alpine Type X 6.5" components -Front
Alpine Type R 6.5" Components -Rear
JL Audio 500/1 class D amp
JL powerwedge 2 12"

Make spacers/adpaters out of MDF to mount the Alpines too. With Type-S 6.5's all you have to do is cut the plastic mount and use the alpine mounting adapter, for R and X you may be able to do the same but I believe you will need an adapter instead. Luckily that's not real difficult to make so you should be fine.

1 12" in the truck may be enough, depending on what you want. Two would be harder to fit.

You can fit a smaller sub in the pass floor (there's a space beneath the carpet at the front of the compartment) but I think you can only fit a 8" or 10" in there..

Oh you can use 2 12's, it just depends on how much space you want left over.

Amps can be mounted where the spare tire is, if they are hot running amps make sure you install some form of venting and/or fans, it's a tight area that doesn't get much airflow normally...

I haven't seen anyone do that, ever. Probably because it would sound like total crap when you put the top down.

sound like total crap with the top down only and sound good with the top up

vs.

im 6ft tall and have the seat resting on the front of the component speakers....so basically top up or down it will be very muffled....?

i duno i feel the rear deck is a better place for em....where do the S-pods place the speakers?
