Default Stock CD player won't play Burned CD's

I just got an 03 S2000 and my stock cd player will not play copied cd's. It will play originals but it skips when i load a burned cd. Even weirder is that it will play the first track fine but on the second track it just skips. has anyone heard of this problem or is it just a faulty head unit. I searched the forum and no results.

It is a common problem with alot of stcck HU's. My wife's Accord acts the same way.

You can try to clean the disc (that helped with some). Otherwise you need to try different brands. Maxell's work in my wife's car but cheaper ones (ie. store brands) don't.

With previous players I've owned that had this problem, I found that the CD-R's with the Blueish tint (on the recording side) worked the best. I don't know why but that's my experience

i've experienced this as well... in general, avoid the mint green coating, as it doesn't seem quite as reflective... i've had less problems w/ the silver coatings. the dark blue tints and black discs have historically worked well for me.

I've used Imation with no problems with my stock '03 HU. However, in a few weeks, I will have my new Alpine 9813 installed, and won't be worrying about it (as much).

I've never had a problem in my '03 with CD's I've burned on my Dell notebook. Wish it played MP3's, though.

I've been using Fuji (lately) 700MB/80Min discs and it worked just fine burned as a normal audio disc in the stock HU.

I've also used TDK certified plus, and I've got nothing but praise for the brand (the non certified plus TDK are crappy OEM'ed Reitek discs).
