stock head unit--but uneven treble!!
i recently upgraded my sound system (with Infinity kappa 3 way and Kenwood excelon amp--but kept the stock head unit) and it sounds great. but i also noticed that the driver's side's treble is much stronger than the passenger's side. i know it's not my speakers because when i reverse left/right in the amp input, it does the same thing in reverse. it's just that the passenger side has much less treble. do any of you notice this?
my guess is that may be this is intentional--since when we are driving, we are blocking the left speaker with our left leg. (but if none of you find this problem, well, then i guess i have to visit the dealer.) what do you think?

Try straddling the center console (with the top down, of course) and listening for a few secs. Then do the same facing the back of the car, just to rule out one ear being deficient. If they still sound different...
Check the balance and fadar adjustments by pulling out the adjustment knobs. You want the fadar all the way to the front and the balance balanced. Your new power may just be highliting a condition you didn't notice with the old set up(i.e. imbalance).
Also might want to recheck the phasing of the speakers:
Drivers Door- Neg=GRY/RED
POS=GRN/YLW
Passenger Door- Neg=Lt GRN
POS=GRN/BLK
Note: As green and black are normally used for ground wires this is easy to mess up.

thanks for your inputs, guys.
well, i think i tried just about everything i know, and i give up. i don't think it's the phasing problem on the speaker, because when i switch the lt/rt input on the amp, the problem is just reversed: now the driver's side is dull and the passenger side is bright (opposite of before). if the problem was in the speaker wiring, this should not happen.
i don't think its balancing problem either; the difference is pretty clear when you single out one side (mute oneside by turning the balance either all the way to left or right) and compare the sound. one side is clearly brighter than the other.
i have heard from other people who have the same problem that i have. they also tried everything they can but they can't seem to fix it either.
i love my the s2k, but for a HOnda, it has been giving me so many little problems--my brake squeaks, gear grinds, stereo has problems, odd noises coming from random places...

I just finished installing my Alpine amp last night. I am running Infiniti Kappas in the doors with the stock head unit.
MY PASSENGER SIDE HAS NO TREBLE!!! Guys, it is a very obvious difference. This has been a very frustrating experience. Please let me know if you guys figure this one out.

i had a pair of infinity 3-ways and noticed the abscence of treble too. i removed the speaker and found out that the tweeter assembly had fallen off. oh well. sending it back for warranty repairs.
