Default Stock Head Unit Lock Out Code

I purchased my S2k in April, I learned afterward that the dealer should have supplied a card with the unlock code. The dealer says they lost the card and has been unhelpful. I plan to upgrade the speakers and add an amp but not replace the head unit so I

The serial number on the back of the radio can be used to get the number from Honda customer service. Call them first.

Your dealer can also get it. Shame on them.

As far as I know, it's only on that card. I have the same problem - no card, no code. You can however, pull the head unit out, get the serial number off it and head down to the Honda dealership. They'll be able to pull up the code from a database. I'm surprised yor dealership didn't tell you this.

Most dealerships place a sticker somewhere on the car that lists the stereo code. Some people have reported having it on their trunklid after opening the trunk up. Mine is stuck inside the "secret" compartment. I've also heard people say it's somewhere near the door. Anyways, here's a pic, from Lucid's site, of what the sticker looks like:

Good luck

I found my code card in the front portion of the secret compartment under the little felt pad - dealer said they did not put it there (somebody did)????

Thanks very much for the help. I'll check the secret compartment again but it's on the dealer to warrant the product or replace it.

The dealer put the codes in MY00 in my trunk, by the lock. When i bought my02, they forgot. When i disconnected my battery to install my v-afc, i realized i didn't have a code, so i called my service guy at honda. Since he already knew me, he didn't ask for anything, went away for 2 minutes, came back with the codes. SO i am assuming that by the VIN number, he can obtain the head unit serial number.
