Default stupid power door lock question

this might sound rediculous, but was power locks an option on S2000? I picked up my 2001 S2000 yesterday, there was no alarm or keyless entry. I also noticed there was no lock/unlock button, however when I lock the drivers side door, passenger door locks with it. SO my question is in order to get keyless entry, am I going to need actuators for the locks? I'm kind of surprised about this, unless I got ripped off or something. Thnx

LOL, no unfortunately thats how teh S is. Power door locks will work and you dont need actuators. If you manually lock the drivers side, ther pass side locks also. However you have to lean over to unlock the pass side. It sux, I know. Thats why I got my alarm in as fast as I could

You mean to say that you did not get the little transmitters? You can buy them but I hear they are pretty pricey. You have to go through a series of steps to program them. It also provides you with the remote trunk opener and panic button.

Keyless entry is standard on every s2000. You should go back where you got the car from and find out what happened to the key fob's that should have come with the car. If they don't have them you might be able to find replacements for a reasonable price on ebay. The CRV ones are the same as the s2000 ones.

Or since he is planning on getting an alarm, then he can just do that and not have to spend $40 per remote and not to mention programing?

Unless he gets the factory one, in which case, he'll need the factory key fobs.
Besides, where did he post that he's planning on getting an alarm?

I was going to get the alarm through a friend of mine whos been installing for years. If I did buy the remote from the dealership I got it from, what is involved with programming it? Do I need like 2 or 3 keys because I also only got 1 key with my car. thanx for the quick responses.

I did buy it through a honda dealership, it was certified pre-owned. Would they still give me keys and stuff?
