Sub box + messed up threads=
I bought a sub woofer box(it says Kinetics, i think) used.
The holes that the sub srews onto the box dont srew on anymore. They dont thread on, they made the holes slighty bigger.

My question is:
Do i buy a new box?
Can i just rotate the sub to cover up those holes and drill new ones?
Or do i just buy bigger srews and screw em on into the exsisting holes?
thx

I would use t-nuts and bolt setup.
That doesn't look like one of mine though... but maybe... I did for some of the Alphasonik subs use the t-nuts to bolt it down. But I don't think its mine because I never put the speaker terminal on the side like that.
But a t-nut/bolt setup will solve that problem no problem.

Easiest...if you're screwing directly into the MDF and it's striped out...
1....
Rotate sub, re-drill and away you go.
or
2....
If you're worried about the box being sealed...take 2-3 toothpicks per hole, put some white glue on them, push them into the striped MDF holes, snap them off flush, wait for them to dry and reuse same holes now filled with fresh wood and glue. Done it many times to fix boxes my kid's friends have screwed up in the past.

I would rotate the sub, you have a gasket for it, right?

That pic is just a pic i got from the net. i didnt take a pic of my box cause i am/was at work. It say kinetics on the bottom stamped in red ink i think
when you said it would solve the prob. Are u saying the t-nut and bolt would go into the stripped holes or rotate the sub?
thx again guys

If the holes are "big" and you want to fill them from the inside just get some yellow wood glue & saw dust. Mix the glue and dust into a slurry and just smear it into the holes, wait a day to dry. Then as others pointed out, rotate sub, re-drill.
