Which sub should I get for Wlaurent's sub box?
I'm deciding between three:
Rockford He2 Rockford Punch 2 Polk Momo Or is there something better I should use. I have a old amp that will run 150w rms at 4 ohm bridged. My budget for the sub is about 150 bucks max. |
you may look into this one, it's the one I have, but I'm feeding 300W RMS, but it is an amazing little sub, and not too well used here since the e8a went away.
http://www.alphasonik.com/600Subs.html the 608 is the 8 in. |
That def. looks nice! I noticed that it is a DVC sub at 4 ohms. When you hook it up as a single sub. Won't it run at 2 ohms or is there a way to run it at 4 ohms. My amp is only stable up to 75 w at 2 ohms and 150 w at 4 ohms.
I don't know too much about wiring and from all the wiring diagrams I saw, it shows (Rockford's and JL's site): 8 ohms dvc = wired to 4 ohms 4 ohms dvc = wired to 2 ohms 2 ohms dvc = wired to 1 ohm Thanks! Kham PS. How much did you pay?? |
You are correct, this sub can only be run at 2 or 8 ohms, neither being suitable for you.
You might also want to check out the Eclipse 8". They make a 4 ohm model but I am not sure if it's under the $150 mark. |
I'm running 8" L7's in Wlaurent boxes and they POUND
|
Thanks for your responses!
I ended up going with the Rockford Punch 2. I really wanted to get the Alphasonik, but I didn't want to buy another amp to run it. (It sucked cuz I have 3 amps laying around and none could run 2 ohms) |
