If you've got the budget, I recommend getting more amp - 150 watts isn't that much. If not, something like the JL Audio 12W0 would get the most from your available power.

If you've got $1000 to spend in an amp and sub, you could get something working in the 500+ watt range that will be quite a bit more satisfying. I had an Eclipse 88120Ti with about 800 rms watts going to it in the same box, and it worked great!

for 150 watts you can go with the JL 12w3 or the Kicker Competition (probably the CompVR would be a better box fit). I have the original Kicker Comps and they're perfect for 150watts (I was originally running 300+ watts to 2-12").

With 150watts though, you do have lots of choices (sorry jzr to disagree with you). You can pretty much go for anything except alum (or titanium) subs or solobarics (which are inefficient pigs) which usually require a higher power rating. You might try Image Dynamics also.

Well, I got the Xtant 603 so I wouldn't have to buy more amps. It has a 150 watt rating at 4 ohm and 300 watts at 2 ohm. I'm willing to spend 'MSRP' $400. I can get audio equipment at wholesale prices...

well you'd want a 4+4 DVC sub then. Look into Polk's Sub's they have some pretty nice ones in your range

Dual voice coil, gives you more options to wire your load. 4 ohm/4 ohm. that means you can wire to 2 ohm.
