Default Subwoofer options. Please help!

Hey guys. I'm looking into getting a new sub to custom box into my tool well in the trunk. What is everyones opinions of Sony, JBL, Kicker Solobarics, and Audiobahn? Also what type of amps do you guys like? Thanks a lot guys.

Sony AW5X subwoofer/AMP combo are great... they sit JUST RIGHT under the passenger side seat, very snug, and produce nice bass.

Adam,

First, I would ask the guys at the Electronics forum, you'd probably get a better response.

Second, I had one 12" Kicker Solarbarics in there, the high end version. But it cost pretty high and the box that I had was not a perfect fit, so it just sat there kinda funny. Sound quality was great, but the Rockford Fosgatre amp (new) cost more than the sub (used) $$.

It sounded great! and was perfect for the summer, but my girl at the time didn't care for it, so I sold it to a co-worker for the same price as what I paid. He thought it was a great deal.

I only had it for 2-3 weeks, glad I got my money back. But honestly, if I were living it up like I was 18 again, I would've definitely kept the Kicker/RF combo.

i would say kicker or if you can fit it, get a JL sub in there. W6 or W7...I don't even know if they'll fit. Image Dynamics is a great sub as well.

Is the Sony AW5X sold in the US? (A search in Google got me 79 listings, all in Japanese.) What is its price where you purchased it, NVR2FAST?

Alpine MDR V540 400watt x 4 channel amp with JL Audio W3V2 10" sub. Sound quality is perfect. I can be going 85 with the top down and the windows down, and the music still hurts my ears.....of course that has alot to do with the MB Quart Q-series component system in the doors....but still
