Subwoofer rattling

Default Subwoofer rattling

hey so i installed my l7 from my last car and when the top is up it rattles really bad i was wondering what i should do to stop it and get cleaner bass.

the best/easiest ways are to remove the rear tray completely, or vent it

another way that will take a lot of time and you might get lucky enough to have it actually help, is to stuff foam/matches/something around the "edges" of the rear tray, the middle will still probably rattle though (i could never get this method to reduce rattles)

yeah just remove the convertible tray..i did mine and my l7 sounds so much better after..its a night and day difference

yea, you can feel the bass a lot more as it doesn't have to mess with all that plastic anymore

This is good to know before I install my sub, is the tray hard to remove or do I have to remove the entire top to get it out?

there are little clip things holding it in, you have to push in the center of the clip (with a pen or something), and then you can pull the clips out, takes about 10-15 minutes ? less than 10 clips?

if you remove the vert tray, does it in anyway compromise dropping the vert top?

mine's been removed for 2+ years, i have a pretty big amp mounted in place of the spare tire, and no damage to glass rear window (i was concerned about this at first)

i cut 2.5" holes in my rear tray and installed it back in place with a muz mat...no rattling, good bass, still protects my plastic window
