Default Suggest an amp for my setup

So this will be my new setup..

alpine 9885
infinity kappa 63.7i
amp??

I've heard good things about hifonics. I also know I need a 2x75 rms amp... I just don't know which one to get.

Recommendations for this setup? Also, where do people usually order parts? I always hear how bad it is to buy off of crutchfield.. so is ebay the answer?

thanks for looking !

Well, for starters, how much do you want to spend and where do you plan on mounting it?

In total, I would like to spend <$800

Using ebay prices... thats

alpine 9885 ~ 250
modifry dci + harness ~ 120
infinity kappa 63.7i ~ 90

leaving roughly 300-400 for amp. i will also be asking a local audio shop to install the amp and speakers since i want no part of that

mounting i would like to be as discrete as possible. would the alpine pdx 2.150 be a good choice?

http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Gro...=Alpine&tp=5684

in this case I would purchase from crutchfield, because they provide free shipping, no tax since u r from the bay area, harness are included and the tech/customer support are top notch.

You might pick up a nice amp on Ebay.

I picked up my Audison LRX 2.150 for approx $300 (2x85W)

An SRX series would be cheaper even. Might look at Eclipse PA series amps (if you want a class A/B amp).

JL is supposed to have good amps, but I've never used JL on any of my builds so I don't know firsthand.

Definitely can find good deals on Ebay, just be careful (as always).

Personally, I've never bought from Crutchfield. I find their prices to be a bit higher than anywhere else.

I dont like crutchfield at all. I have purchased from onlinecarstereo.com and www.ikesound.com. Good deals and good service. A good cheap amp is the lanzar opti. Most lanzar is junk but the opti line is awesome the hifonics is good I run a 4 channel hifonics phoenix gold makes a nice reasonable amp. JL is great buttt exspensive and big.

The Alpine MPR-F250 is a great amp for the S2K, it will mount on the left side floor in the trunk and mount a 10" sub on the right side, you will have to buy or make a box for it, it's a nice good looking and sounding set up.
