Default swi-x eclipse steering wheel control problems

hi all,
im having problems getting my DCI to work. bought a SWI-X *pac* and have an eclipse 3414 IR remote deck
So far after reading the pac for dummies guide, it stated to connect the WHITE wire only so now my question is.....

I can only get the CH and VOL UP , VOL DWN to work on the dash control. The MODE and MUTE button doesnt work at all even if I try to program to a different command such as VOL UP or CH. So does anyone know which wire those two button uses? .. Im assuming its not the WHITE wire as stated on the PAC site.

my deck is IR so I have to use the SWI-X.

TIA

Getting the mute button to work takes a little extra wiring. If you do a search here you can find instructions on how to do it. Also, check out www.lucidauto.com, they have a good step-by-step there too. The 'Mode' button should work no problem, make sure you are programming it in the right sequence, as per the instructions. You have to skip some buttons as you program and put in 'blanks' before you get to the 'Mode' button.

the thing thats was wierd was I was able to assign MUTE to the CH button on the dash which I thought was odd. So thats why i thought the MUTE on the dash was using a different wire.
Sweet now it looks like theres some work to do to get the MUTE to work.
As for the MODE I still cant get it to be assigned to any button. Let me check my wirings..

thx for the help

How did you get the 'Mute' button to work to change the presets? I am actually trying to get that to happen, because I don't want to use the 'Mute' as a mute function, but as a way to change the 'band' on my HU, (FM1, FM2, AM, etc.) I couldn't get the 'Mute' button to do anything without the extra wiring.

did you install a 5100 ohm resistor across the white and black wire?

If you use a 3900 or 5100 ohm resistor between the white and black, the mode button WILL work. The directions suck. That resistor has nothing to do with Mute operations.

Tell me if I'm right or not.. I really don't want to mess anything up..

I have a SWI and i'm trying to get it connected...

It states to use 3 of the many wires. (RED, BLACK and White)

So I'm guessing Black, Red are the ground/power.. So is it safe to wire them in with the CD player?

also.. What wire do I connect the white to???(Steering wheel wire)
