Default System Wiring Help

Planning on installing my new system in a week or two. I want to order all the wiring I'll need now so I will have it when everything arrives. I tried using the search but couldn't find any definitive answers to my questions.

1) What length do I need to purchase for each wire type? I will be running the power wire down the passenger side along with the remote turn on lead. Interconnects and speaker wires will be run down the center console.

2) What type distribution/fuse block should I use? Should I get a 0/1 to two 4 gauge or a 4 to two 8 gauge? Where should the block be located (engine compartment, passenger footwell, trunk)?

3) What gauge wires should I use? I will be sending >100wrms to the front component speakers using a PG Ti 600.2, what gauge should the speaker wires be? How about the power and remote turn on lead wires? I haven't decided on a sub/amp combo yet but want to wire for it now, will probably be between 300-500 wrms.

4) What gauge and length ground wires will I need? Where are the best places to ground these on the vehicle in the trunk?

5) How many of each type of terminals will i need (spade/ring)?

6) Is there anything I am forgetting that I need for installation?

I would like to purchase the items from KnuKonceptz so recommendations on specific items or models would be greatly appreciated. Recommendations of other brands would also be welcome. My only caveat is that the interconnects have to be of reasonably high quality in order to avoid noise from entering the system.

As always thanks for any help.

well i can chime in here.. or rather what I did with my system.. I'm running a alphasonic 4150A. 150 to each front components and bridged 460a to sub.. all at 4 ohms.
I ran a 8 guage power/ground and 14ag for all component wiring and 12 for the sub..
depending on what your amp terminal looks like you'll need different amount of connectors... some amps have cable inputs and other require you to put connectors on the cable...
as for the fuse... basic rule of thumb i always follow... less then 12" form the battery..

as for length of the cable.. get enough that you can throw at least 5 feet away... that'll give you some margin or error..

i used about 15 feet of power + and about 2 feet of ground
30 feet of 14ag for pair of components
10 feet for 12ag sub

along with the essentials I also used wire loom. the black platic sleeve to match the oem wire loom. tie wraps, shrink wraps

Thanks for the info devilchrist.

Any other suggestions or details from anyone? Phil? Dave?

Am I better off buying an amp installation kit and then buying any upgraded pieces I want or should I do the whole thing piecemeal?

Yo Yo.....

First of all......your amps in the trunk right???

Get the most expensive RCAs they have.....the big black ones.....they cost $$$ but youll thank me later for getting them. There is absolutely 0 distortion from them.

Next...you want a dist block of 4 into two 8s.
I got 6 meters of everything, just in case I needed extra...which later on....you always do.

So 4 meters power wire 4gauge...2 meters power wire...8gauge

2meters ground wire, 8gauge, but DIFFERENT COLOR!

RCAs.....I got 6 meters, and have about 5 feet left over.

Speaker wire....get the 2 in 1 braided...makes installation easier.

Remore wire....just grab some cheap speaker wire.
Inline fuse

Best place to ground would be the stock honda ground....youll see it when you strip the trunk....

Anything else buddy?
