The short answer... put the shifter in 6th gear, grab the panel by the door hinges and pull. that's it. Pull from one side first to pop it loose, then the other side by the hinge. Then pull down and away to pop the 2 clips by the vents... Its easy... takes about 30 seconds.

it takes a little bit more pull than you think (almost feels like it's gonna break, especially the first time its ever been taken out)

just pull one side at a time with the botton 2 corners of the radio door

It doesn't take that much pull but new ones can be stiff sometimes.... but you can do it easy, I've done it like a 100+ times Just pull on the thing with a steady strong pull

BTW, for those reading who have AP2's, it's not QUITE this simple. I understand that first you have to pop up the top of the center console and pull it back out of the way since the bottom of the center panel holding the radio door sits behind the top of the center console.

Yeah, with an AP2, you may as well unscrew the shift knob, pull off the tunnel/console cover, unhook the wiring connections, and get that tunnel/console cover piece completely out of the way. Otherwise, it's hard to get the radio door and vent piece on/off cleanly.

On later AP2 models (06+ ?) you will also need to disconnect the wiring for the airbag light that's next to the center vents when you pull the radio door off.

Yup... worked on both Ap2 and Ap1...

Ap1 was easy.. just pull... I did the bottom first, then up where the vents are.

Ap2 was a bit trickier.. unscrew the shift knob... pull the center console (the top portion, not the whole thing), then go...
