Is there a car power plug adaptor which branches into 2 or more outlets?
I have a radar detector and the iPod and right now, I can only use one or the other when I'm driving. I was wondering if there is such a thing as mentioned in my subject line which allows me to use them both at the same time and which also functions like a "surge protector" to filter out power spikes (or maybe spikes don't apply in car power ports, I dunno). Anyone have one of these things and are there better than average ones out there?

Where can you get one of these? And what are some good brand names? Also, do these things protect from surges as well or do only some of them have this feature?

Kronos,
I was thinking about hard wiring my detector. I was going to run the powerlead up through the defrost hole. Any potential problems with that, i.e. heat issues, etc.?

Surging is not an issue. Car voltage is DC

Willie -- it's easy to hardwire...
there's a tie in near the fuse box under the dash, the right trim panel on the windshield pops off like a breeze, and you can just tuck your cabling up under the top trim panel via a little rubber gasket on the windshield side...
ruexp67 did a little writeup showing how... if you can't find it or want info, let me know and i'll take some pics of my install.
