Default There goes my Lucid 12" sub enclosure!

So after waiting almost 2 months now hear that Lucid's supplier for their 12" fiberglass enclosures has sent them bad boxes. This is the second supplier that sent them poor quality work. What shall I do with my Alpine 12" sub The shop that's going to install my new HU, component speakers, amps and sub says they'll custom make a box for me but it'll cost me upwards of 1k. ARGH!!!!

Your shop is ripping you off. Even Tweeter offered to build me a custom fiberglass dual 10" box for $500.

Heck, build one yourself. Fibreglass is messy but not terribly difficult. I did one for 2 8's in my S2k. Never worked w/ fibreglass before and it came out ok.

Did you have it done at a regular install shop?

I build you a sweet one for $500. This is the one my brother and I built for my car:

10" Alpine Type-R sub in a fully fiberglass built box ported and a 'cup holder' for the cap.

Yup I'm doing one now for another board member. What sub do you have? Alpine 12" Type-R? or Type-S?
