I've been sworn to secrecy, and I'm not allowed to answer your question, but if you wait 30 days, someone else will give you an answer you will be happy with.

ummmm....what?!?

Is that some sort of joke or what? I thought that Sony decks and Euro spec alpines were the only ones that have hardwire connector/adapters.....

lost,

The answer to your question (and shame on modifry for being so darn cryptic ) is yes. But I'll explain the most likely reason why he's being so evasive...

You have a few options, each with it's own set of advantages and disadvantages. Do a search on the PAC SWI-3 and/or PAC SWI-X IR repeater for one option...basically, it uses an IR emitter to control your head as if the head's remote was being used. You can find these for $50-$60 at most of your local audio install shops, Best Buy's, Circuit City's, etc.

Several members have created various types of options. DJ Qube, for instance, will rip your remote apart and hardwire it into the dash controls. A few of us have bantered back and forth about ideas on the best way to create a true plug-n-play hardware solution...I just don't have the time, but modifry is one of several people who have forged ahead and created something workable. My guess is, modifry is near success with a more universal hardware solution.

So, either chose one of the above options, or sit tight and see what modifry comes up with...

Really, I can't say anymore.

If you want, PM webgod and ask how he likes his new Alpine.

I obtained a Pioneer interface for the S2000 from the UK and installed it with 7400. It works sweet with no delay (like the PAC SWIX), mute, etc... - however, since the pioneers do not have a hardwire plug you still have to mount an IR eye in the front of the deck.

The Pioneer interface comes with ISO type HU connectors, however, all the wire color codes are the same as on my 7400 so I just cut off the ISO connectors and soldered in my 7400 connector.

Here are some pictures of the device and my install:

I have 4 more on there way this month and have options on 10 more in January. (I bought them because I was going to pre-wire and sell with 7400/740 or 9400/940 if anyone was interested).
