Yeah I wan't sure if it was going to work because I didn't know what was inside of the visor or where it was.. I encountered a few problems when a copper rod that basically is the frame of the visor was on the way on my gps. The 5" screen barely made it in. I had to grind down that rod in order to make the GPS sit flat on the visor. It has hiting the top and bottom of the gps... oh and it's wired to the 12V accessory fuse.

Could you post some details on where you hardwired it in? I would like to install mine just on a dash pedestal without the cord stretching all the way back to the accessory outlet.

I will post pics of the wiring when my camera is done recharging, but this is the idea:
Get a 12V accessory socket from Radioshack (usually comes with a 10A fuse of it's own)
Use a dremel kit to grind off plastic from the 10A fuse for the 12V Accessory Socket, which is the 5th fuse on the left column.
Solder the power wire to the 10A fuse (shown in picture)
hook up the gorund to the big bolt holding all the grounded wires on the left side from the fuse box.

Wiring Pics!

This way I can plug in to my laptop to update maps and such. The tape is just to hold the 12V socket in place.
