Unhappy Too Much Power?

Hi all. I am contemplating using my PPI PCX-2200 (from my previous car) to power a pair of Infinity 6010cs components which I got for free. Now I know that this amp is rated at 200 watts RMS. The speakers are rated at 90 watts RMS and 270 Peak. My thought was to install the amp and keep the gain turned down low. IS THIS A BAD IDEA???

Eventually, I plan on using it to power some Boston Acoustics Z60's, when I have the funds.

My whole system would consist of a Pioneer DEH7700 with the iPod module, Modfry's DCI wired module, the PPI PCX-2200 and the Infinity 6010cs components. I currently have no plans on adding a sub.

I appreciate your input!

I think if you dont get crazyon the gain and keep the volume below the point where you get distortion you should be ok.

As other poster said, it is better to have more power than less, as long as you have the gain on the amp fairly low and the volume on HU not too high, you are feeding clean signals to speakers.
