Default Trouble with Pioneer P710BT install

I just received my new P710BT today and I am trying to install it but it appears that either the orginal factory stereo used a non-standard DIN mounting or that the pioneer DIN mounting holes are off. The real problem seems to be that the 'pins' on the OEM DIN mounts that center the mount do not fit into a hole on the Pioneer so I can't install the mounts without potentially bending the Pioneer's frame. Should I cut the 'pins' off? Do I need them? On other vehicles I have owned that used a DIN mount some of them had 'pins' on the mounts and some did not. Anyone ran into this problem before?

Thanks,
Gabe

Sorry, didn't have time to take pictures the other day, here is what I am dealing with.

Here is a picture of the mounting bracket next to the HU, you can see the 'pins' on the mounting bracket.

Here is what the bracket looks like when the pin is aligned with the hole it is supposed to be. The holes for the HU do not line up with the bracket.

I'm probably just going to grind the pins off.

I had this HU since the 29th of may.
It was one of only 2 that the audio shop got.
i had it installed next day after it came in.

I'll take pictures.
one thing that I didn't like is that the remote is more more use of the bluetooth than the HU.

I paid $391 installed.
