Default "Tuning" Alpine CDA-7894

I installed this head unit last night along with Lucid's 3-Way Kenwoods in the rear (I have Polk's in the front). I haven't spent a great deal of time with it yet, but am finding it initially difficult setting the various tuning features (i.e.: Bass/Treble Control, Time Correction, MX Mode, and Bass Focus). While I realize the settings will be personalized, has anyone realized some good results with this setup?

as with "good speakers," "good results" is strictly in the ear of the beholder. you have to play with the different settings on the alpines to realize what you consider to be "good results." it took me about a month (albeit on a higher end model from last year with more settings) and i still mess with it. if you're not sure what button accomplishes what difference in sound, RTFM!

The manual is pretty weak, although through trial and error I could pretty much figure out the functionality of each setting. I was finding myself constantly adjusting/re-adjusting settings for every MP3 track.

The problem seems to be that many of my older MP3 files are 128kbs, and I have been trying to "tune" them to improve their quality, which obviously is not possible. The tracks that I have been achieving the best results with, not coincidentally, are 192kbs.
