Default Tweeter Installs without stock pods

I have a set of Focal components i want to install onto my car, my dilemna is i don't know where to mount the tweeters. The newer models comes with stock tweeter pods while the older ones ( my 2000) don't have anything. I dont' want to cut my door panels to put the tweeters in.

Where are some of the places you guys have mounted your tweeters and still get good to decent imaging?

Yea i saw the tweeter pods already... that requires modding the pillars. I'm trying to find a good install where i can easily reverse back to stock

I'll just add this because you guys already brought it up. Changing out the a-piller once molded takes about 30seconds. Honestly its so easy. If you decide to get a set, if and when you get rid of the car and want to change back to stock I'll bet you could sell them in a day or two here(course you have to be a member to sell but...) We my even just trade you. A new set of stock A-pillers for the molded ones.

What is your concern about having to change it back to stock? This is one of those times that you need to decide what's important. My guess is that great sound is really important otherwise you wouldn't have purchased a set of Focal's. If you've gone this far you might as well finish it off with a nice sound stage. Be it the molded tweeters or mounted on the door in the stock door pods...

I placed mine here on my year 2000. Just in case you change your mind about the door panels. Only took a few minutes and a dremel tool.

You HAVE to put a hole somewhere to mount it, unless you plan on doubleside taping it and I'm betting new pillars are a lot cheaper than door panels for putting back to stock condition. Plus as john said, you can sell the modded pillars. Good luck on selling a door panel with a hole in it.

I mounted the tweeters just like the MY02 and will sell it that way. If you REALLY must return to stock, do the A-pillers.

I really like how clean of an install that is, and I agree, when you sell it, it will only ADD value to the car. I do have a question though. I am looking at getting a set of infinity PERFECT speakers in 6.5 to replace my door speakers.

1) will they fit depth wise? I am aware that I may have to trim the baffles, but is that it???
2) Where would you put the crossovers? I have seen plenty tweeter locations, but I need a viable spot for the crossovers? I have a professional car audio installer ( my roommate) helping me out with this, as I have no idea about car audio whatsoever, but I would like to see if you all had any creative locations for mounting them. I am going for the "stock" look.

Thanks, and sorry if it looks like I am threadjacking, I am just trying to get more valuable input. Thanks!
