Many people put them in the doors, but I was told numerous times that the sounds stage is not very decent in this position. Same with behind your head. I'm sure they all sound good, and none of us here are competing with our systems...so you might just go with whatever is the most reasonable to you. I had my installed in the pillars as that was explained to be the best sound stage by my installer(s). Many people don't go this route simply because it's much more expensive than just cutting a whole in your door.

Wes, I'm surprised they fit. There's not much room under the panel (though I see yours now has an appropriate bulge). With a mount like mine, or a basic surface-mount job, you could easily stick them on the pillar or down by the windshield/dash/pillar junction.

I prefer my speakers a little higher up than Honda allowed for, but I'd rather have the tweets a little closer to the woofer than a pillar, dash, or windshield mount would allow (just MHO).

Has anyone seen the tweet mounts on the '02? A newbie installer could make something that looked nicer. I also thought the pockets on the door are an absolute joke.

Do any have problems blocking the tweeter with your body parts and restricting the sound?

I do, with the setup I have above. My left arm blocks the driver's tweet with certain driving positions (with my hand on the wheel). For normal cruising I usually have my arm up on the sill of the door or down low and it doesn't interfere; with spirited driving and racing it's in the way, but I'm usually not paying attention to the stereo.

Hey shaner, your set up is sooo sweet, but I heard it from the grapevine that you "nicked" your finger doing that heheheheh.... j/k. You know you have one of the sweetest tweeter (and the entire sound system) set-up around here.

Later,

Oh, that "finger incident"... that was from my Focus (serves me right for buying a Ford). While lowering my car onto a jack-stand I forgot to remove a finger and caught it between the car and the stand (crushing it).

My S2000 has NEVER hurt me... except in the wallet

Wow Shaner, I've never thought of that. It's very clever and imaginative. All of the above installs look good. I hope mine comes out well.
