Default Tweeter question and another general question

Do you need the 02 and up radio to use the stock door tweeters? There are some 02 door pannels available and I was thinking about gettin them, but I have a 01. Second thing, I was thinking of trying to split the wires going to the 12V charger. I am looking to place another charger in the "glove box" and have a phone mount there. By splitting the wire, essentially having 2 outlets fromt the same wire, would I cutting my voltage by 1/2?
thanks

Steve, looking at the wiring diagram of the stock tweeter setup, it appears that those tweeters are simply wired "in parallel" with the main door speakers, so it shouldn't be an issue. I was going to add tweeters to my setup but shelved it when I discovered how much Honda wanted for the door panels. It's good that you found some cheap.
As for splitting the power of your accessory socket, NO, you will not cut your voltage by 1/2. It'll still be 12V. However, if you plug something into both at the same time, you might exceed the amperage and blow the fuse. I do not believe a cell phone car charger is a high amperage unit, so you should also be fine here.

(edited to read "in parallel")

Hmmm... I just bought an 02 radio for my 00. The 02 radio has a plug in for a second wiring harness that the 00 radio didn't have (smaller than the main harness).

Any idea what this is for?

Tenblade, just buy some bargain component speakers. For less than a hundred bucks you will have far better sound than the crap stock speakers.

And yes you can use the 01 radio.

My '00 has an empty plug-in which I assumed was for the factory optional CD changer. Are saying that yours has 2 empty plug-ins?

Hmmm... no, there are two plugins on the back of the 02 radio. I could have sworn there was only one on the 00 radio. Maybe my memory is going....

Why not buy aftermarket speakers and cut them into your door panels? Its very easy to do...
