Default Under carriage Lighting

I've been hexed. I must have under carriage lighting, like the Fast and Furious.

Has anyone have experience with the StreetGlow product for a S2000?

I am promised the car will go faster and be invisible to traffic control authorities.

I'd like to integrate it with the dome light and the head light switch.

Any suggestions or tips?

Don't bother to dissuade me, I'm hexed, I must do it.

Oooooo Kay.

Actually I think MacGyver is working on a plan to think about designing something like this out of LEDs. (Oooo.... Ahhhh... )

PM him and ask about it.

No need for PMs, just wait a little bit longer. My footwell lights should be ready for production near the end of this month, and they integrate with either the map lights or the door pins.

Once the footwell lights go into production, the next out the door will be the underbody lights...this is a natural next step since the base code is exactly the same, I'll merely add on some new features. Circuit/board design should be somewhat faster with this one since all of the footprints are already laid out, I just need to pop them on a new board and lay the tracks.

macgyver,

is your solution LEDs? my car is yellow and i'm going for green as the accent color.

you mention foot wells, and that's also something i want to do. i saw some posts on the inside door latch that look good too. i liked the idea of lighting up the door controls, because i've had passagers complain about not seeing them.

it would be great to integrate all these lamps together.

will your circuit board accept additional light sources? i'm thinking foot wells, under carriage, wheel wells, and door controls.

any idea of what you will be charging? remember i'm hexed and i gotta do this!

Mac's mods use multi-colored LEDs. These allow you to change the color to ANYTHING you want. Check out the link in my sig above about MacGyver's Lighted Windscreen. Now that sounds like something you must have too!

LEDs all the way...they're much more versatile than neon. I need to do a side-by-side comparison of LEDs and neon to see if the LEDs are at least as bright (if not brighter) than a neon solution. With LEDs you can change the color on the fly, modulate it more quickly, adjust brightness to a larger extent, etc.

The design I'm currently working on (the boards are supposed to be in mid this week) will not have extra outputs, but you're free to use another box for whatever you like. For example, you could use 1 box for the footwells, 1 for lighting up etched headrest wind blockers, and 1 for the door handles. I'm considering a quad-zone circuit to supplement the dual-zone circuit, but I haven't made up my mind yet.

The underbody lighting controller will be a separate entity since there will need to be a larger number of inputs and outputs. I won't set a price on the underbody controller until I have a better idea about the cost of parts involved. I'm loking at a $120 price tag for the footwell light controller...it may be cheaper, but I guarantee it won't cost more than that.
