Default US HU in a European S2000

Does anyone know if it's possible to use a US headunit in a European S2000?
I ask this because the HU's in the US are a lot ceaper than in in Holland...

Thanks

From what i know AM band freqency ranges are about the same, but the steps (raster) is different in the USA from HU's in Europe 10khz instead of 9Khz.

FM band is the same i think (correct me if i'm wrong)

If you (like me) almost never listen to AM, then who cares?

Hello there!

New (Dutch) owners??? Where you're at? Do you have a US car or a EU car?

I got a US version in Holland (took it with me when I moved back to NL from the USA) and I changed the head unit altogether to a JVC one, so I honestly don't know.

But I do know however that the EU version indeed has a slightly different frequency band, but more importantly the spacing is different with 0.2 MHz steps rather than 0.1 or even 0.05 MHz steps in EU radio's. A common complaint is that on US radio's in Europe you sometimes can't tune the stations properly and that you're 'in between' channels rather than spot on.

Of course US version does not have RDS and Traffic Announcements either!!!

Greetings,

Siepel

Hiya..

Ofcourse... forgot about RDS and TA, and all extensions of that standard.

Seems everytime you buy a new HU, extra RDS features are added.

New S2K owner?? Yep, bought a second hand 2002 Neurenberger Blue (Suzuka Blue), with new hardtop.

And traded in my Toyota MR2 spyder.
