Default USA spec

Hi everyone, I just installed a a USA spec iPod adapter and when I play my iPod only one speaker works. But when I play CDs or the radio both speakers work fine. Anyone have any ideas I could go about on fixing this situation?

Make sure the module is plugged all the way in on the module and behind the radio

If you've got a dock for the iPod (one that uses the iPod connector and not hte standard headphone jack), check to make sure it's outputting both channels via the connector. Also, can you connect something to the USA spec iPod adapter's AUX RCA input jacks to see if both channels play through to your stereo? (to see if there is a problem with one channel on the adapter)

USA SPEC says that their adapter is not compatible with pre-2004 S2000's

I hate to venture into something that I really know little about, particularly
to question William who knows a lot, but I suspect that USA Spec listing
only the 2004+ S2000 is a data problem rather than a product problem.
They list adapters for Civics and Accords from 1994 on, and I'm fairly
confident that the adapter made for those cars for 1999-2003 would be
compatible with the pre-2004 S2000 headunits. Blitzsafe, another maker
of iPod interfaces, has a single model common to both Civics and S2000s
for 2000-2003.
All I can suggest is to make sure all the connectors (at headunit and iPod)
are well seated, and look for any bent pins.

Ok thanks guys I'll be taking it out and checking out the pins asap. I called SOS and they had me call USA spec which had me call back SOS for a replacement. I was told that they would call me back but never did : /

No offense taken - I am just going off of what their site says.

In any case, I do know that the CD changer for the pre-2004 CD changers is a different part number from the post-2003 units along with the head units.

Being that the USA spec uses the CD input on the radio for aux, I suspect there may be an issue with the pin-out.

If you can get the pin out info you may be able to make it work.

yes, I'm quite sure the adapter for a 2004+ car, PA-15 HON2, will not
work in an earlier car, and I believe will not even physically plug into it.
However, I believe the model for a 2000-2003 Civic, PA-11 HON, is very
likely compatible with a 2000-2003 S2000.
