Default usa-spec adapter question

Hey guys,

First of all, I have an 04 and I want to buy the use-spec iPod adapter for my factory stereo. My first question is do I get the HON2 or HON3? Second question is, I want to wire it using the rear cd changer plug in the trunk. Does it come with everything I need to do it that way or will I need more adapters? Because I heard that the connector on the back of the factory stereo is female and the connector in the trunk is male? If I can wire it with the connector in the trunk, how do you guys have it wired from the trunk to the glovebox (or wherever you wired it to) where you can strap the iPhone to the elastic band on the little door? Pictures would help

Thanks

I don't think it's any more difficult to run it from the head unit if you want it in the glove box. Trunk access to the glove box isn't any any easier than popping the center console, pulling the head unit and connecting and running the cable IMO. The DIY AP2 head unit thread has all the info you need to run the cable.

the thing is, I'm trying to avoid removing the head unit. And the diy ap2 head unit thread didn't help much as the second half of pictures don't seem to work...

ok so I got the one I needed. Got it to work in the trunk, sounds awesome, but there is one problem. I don't know how/where to wire the ipod cable to the cabin. Anyone wired the adapter through the trunk harness? how/where did you wire the ipod wire. Please help.
