Default V1 mount

I really need ideas to mount the V1 radar detector that I just picked up. The big problem is that I can't do a windshield or a visor mount without a cord getting all over the place, so is there a better solution?

hardwire kit will allow you to mount on the visor or windshield and keep a nice clean look.

+1 for hardwire. I and quite a few other used the guide at http://www.s2000.org/mods/radar (don't overlook search and Google).

+1 on hard wire. another reason why i would do this away from clean look, easy unmounting is that the connection is behind the shift gate, i can assume it wouldnt work well at all!

I had mine installed when i was getting a radio, took the guy not even 2 minutes with a cheap wiring kit. GL

Your V1 should have originally come with the hardwiring stuff - if you don't have it
you can order it direct from Valentine.

I used the suction cup mount and mounted it just to the right of my rearview mirror. Then I used an index card to push the "hardwire" cable in between the window glass and frame to the a-pillar, and then down around the dash to the fuse box. The wiring is 100% hidden. I then bought a "add-a-fuse" adapter at pep-boys and plugged it into the fuse box. Too easy, 100% hidden, no special tools required.
