I just finished installing my V1 in the S, and now I am in a bit of a mess. I also bought the remote display and planned on putting it behind the steering wheel. It's just too big to go there.

So I need ideas as to where to mount the thing so that:

1. It keeps the visuals "private"
2. It does not obstruct the view of the instrument panel
3. It doesn't get knocked all over by my knees getting in and out of the car.
4. I'd like to avoid cutting up the interior as well.

EDIT:
Yes, I searched. I'm looking for alternatives to #2 and #4

I mounted mine in the cup holder lid. It required some disassembly and cutting of the lid but I am very satisfied with it.

My install does not interfere with the cup holder lid operation and does not limit it's capacity for storage.

Velcroed mine right center of steering wheel housing. Easy to see and does not hide anything important.

I mounted mine under the a/c controls. I didn't want it on the steering column because it would have blocked the warning indicators, and I wanted to be able to see those immediately if for some reason one came on. Plus, it's easier to reach the mute button where I put it. No problem seeing it either.

To install, just run a phone cord out the edge of the radio door assembly (pull firmly and carefully on the radio door and the whole unit, including the vents above will come out.)

I used to have my remote velcroed under the A/C controls. Good location, but the velcro just wouldn't stick well, and it kept falling off.

Currently in the little slot aft of the cup holder, but I do not like that location- I must divert my attention too far from the road to look at it.

Thinking about moving it to the spot between the two defroster slots on the front of the dash. It will need a small cowl for privacy and sunlight visibility.

I've removed the female picture as it is inappropriate.

I tried with velcro too, but had to resort to double sided tape. Hasn't fallen off since.

On an off note, get rid of that sig for the sake of us at work!
