Ok guys......just got my Valentine today.....need a little help....

I am going hardwire, based on these instructions...
http://www.s2000.org/mods/radar/

However, I am confused....In front of me I have a black phone wire....

A little black cylinder with a ground wire (black wire with a spade at the end of it) and a red wire, with a male connector on it. I know to route the black phone wire through the windshield trim, and down to the fuses to connect to the black cylinder.

The black wire with the spade is a ground wire which I will ground down there as well. I do not, however, get what to do with the red wire. First it says to tap into any 12v wire, then it says to plug it into the accessory spare jack thingy. Now, questions...

Is it either or...accessory or 12v wire?
Is it both?
What wire do I tap into?
Someone walk me through the + side of this installation....confusing the hell out of me....Thanks.

Just to add....did some searching......If I just plug the red wire into Option C....will everything work ok, Or do I actually have to tap into a wire???

go w/ door C.

it sounds like the red wire is the power lead for the Val. C will send power only when the ignition is on, but not when you've turned to the accessory switch.

black = ground , red = hot.

is there another wire?

Thanks guys....just that on the instructions on the site I posted a link to, they say you are supposed to plug it in to C, and tap into a 12v wire. Either they misworded it, or I dunno. Makes no sense to me. Ill check when I install. Thanks peeps......

i don't know about the V1, but for the 8500, i took my phone cord, pulled out my ground and 12V hot. tied the hot into a fuse holder and then into C, and tied the ground off on a factory ground.

car on, 8500 on. car off, 8500 off.
